I will be participating, along with a handful of fellow artist’ in an event that The Singularity is putting on in Jackson MI on October fourth called Emerge The Artist. I am very excited for this event, and have been working hard to produce a variety of paintings, and framed pieces that will have all different elements to them. Check out The Singularity by clicking the link above, give them a like, and stay tuned for more information on this event!

I love to paint, but what I love most about painting is when someone requests a specific piece from me. I love taking their idea and translating it onto a canvas.
The first request I had was from a beautiful young mother who was looking for some art to put into her sons playroom, she told me he was really into dinosaurs so I ran with it.
I made this one first, going with cool colors. It took me some time, I couldn’t get into the groove at first, but once it clicked I had it finished within the day;
and started on the second warmer piece;
I went into this one only knowing that I wanted it to be warm, to counteract the very cool piece I created. Then I was struck with the idea of making a sunrise effect, followed by my signature messy-ness and paint speckles.
The second request I got was sent to me in a message on the FB page I recently created, I had never met this young woman before, but absolutely fell in love with her idea. She told me that she loved Disney princesses, and at first I was thinking “utoh.. I’ve never done anything girly and princess like before..” I am always ready, and willing for a new challenge, but then she continued to explain her idea, which was a Disney, female villain. I was hooked! I asked what she wanted exactly, in terms of color scheme and which villain but she told me she loved my style and my sexier paintings, and gave me free rein.
This is what resulted;
I could not be more happy, and pleased with her reaction of excitement and love for the piece. She truly flattered me.
I look forward to any and all requests, and ideas for paintings that will come to me in the future. Of course I love to paint, just to paint and let my own imagination run wild, but I also love the collaboration and the happiness I can give from taking someones idea and transforming it into art.

Everyday I day dream about what I want my future to look like, my career.
I want to paint for a living, I want to create original works of art for each and every person that wants one. I love being given an idea, color scheme, a photo, and painting it the way I interpret it onto a canvas. It’s my passion. I could never explain how amazing it feels to have someone want a piece of something that you made, sometimes it’s hard to say goodbye but the feeling of another person seeing, enjoying, wanting the vision that you created is 100% worth it.
I can literally see myself doing what I love, working from home, painting. Oh what bliss that would bring me.
I just finished this piece, I haven’t named it or anything. In fact I really hated it at first & thought I was going to scrap it, as usual.
It seems I can’t tear myself away from cool colors with a splash of warmth. I love how this has turned out, and I think I’m going to leave it alone and declare it done.
I’ve been hit with a whole new inspiration, not for an exact painting or anything like that. To make my dream a reality. I want to create for people, inspire them, give them something they love. A piece of art to look at everyday, that they want to look at over and over every day, and even see something new in it. I’m going to work my ass off. What’s the point of all this technology if we don’t use it in our favor to catapult ourselves into the world, to be seen, heard. I have a voice, and I want everyone to see it.
Please like my page on FB, it’s a start;

I would like to mark this day in my life, today I sold my first piece of art. It felt amazing, not only to make a profit from something that I genuinely LOVE doing, but that this person wanted something that I made.
It seems like forever ago, one drunken night I expressed to a room full of men that I wanted to make a painting of a woman touching herself, which as expected they all encouraged. I started this painting early February & finally finished her mid April. I had so many people tell me that they wanted this painting, which was extremely flattering, but for some reason I never really pursued their interest in her. I have been attending the art institute of Novi for a little over a month now and ended up making friends with a man named Brian in my design fundamentals class. When we were chatting one day, me being a painter came into conversation and at the time I had just finished the painting so ended up showing him. His exact reaction was “I need her!!” & that is what brings me to writing this post right now. When I sold the painting to him today it took everything in me not to have the biggest, cheesiest smile on my face. I told him thank you, and he told me “continue what you do, I want you to be great.” I can’t express enough how happy, & confident this has made me feel, and I will continue to do what I do, and I will be great.
Thank you Brian, enjoy her.

Yesterday was one of the best days that I have had and will remember for a long time. This town is filled with talented people, they are everywhere, and standing in the gallery at Art634 I had goosebumps surrounded by the beautiful art, and music.
I would like to give such a big thank you to to The Singularity for making all of this possible. You have no idea how grateful I am for all of your hard work, you are making things happen in our town, I am proud to brag about Jackson MI. I can honestly say that I was shocked by the amount of support that turned out, 400+ people were able to view my art because of you. Thank you so much & thank you to every single one of you 400+ people this would not have been possible with out you. I was so nervous and excited leading up to the show, I have always painted because I enjoyed it I never thought about showing my art to people, or even selling it. I usually just gave it to family and friends. I am so grateful that I was given the opportunity to share my passion for painting with all of you.
If you did not make it to the show, please be sure to stop by the Art634 gallery and take in all the amazing work there. Open gallery starts tomorrow noon to three. I know there have been many times that I’ve wanted to purchase art but couldn’t afford it. With that said I posted a note with my paintings that read “when I started painting, I never painted with the intention of making profit from my art so asking me to put a price on my work has brought me to a dead end. So really the question is… what can you afford?” If you are interested in purchasing any of my paintings, or getting a custom painting made please feel free to email me at coll33nyy@gmail.com.
